¡De esto están hechos los sueños! A través del esfuerzo artístico colectivo y vibrantes visiones del futuro, estamos construyendo algo extraordinario en Punta Arena—una iniciativa comunitaria que celebra el talento local, protege nuestro medio ambiente y crea oportunidades sostenibles para las mujeres eco-guías y artesanas.

El Corazón de Nuestro Trabajo: Mujeres Liderando el Camino

En el centro de este hermoso movimiento están las mujeres de Punta Arena—eco-guías y artesanas que están tejiendo sus sueños en una realidad tangible. Este verano lanzamos un proyecto extraordinario con Entre lanas llamado "Red de Sueños", invitando a mujeres de Punta Arena y voluntarias de todo el país a crear un tapiz colectivo en el cielo como parte del proyecto Punta Arena Resiliente. Más de 70 tejedoras de todo el país ya se han sumado con la ambiciosa meta de crear 1.750 cuadros Granny de 20x20 cm en crochet, que formarán una impresionante instalación textil colectiva de 17x5 metros.

Este impresionante homenaje a las manos artesanas cobró vida en Punta Arena, donde las mujeres de la comunidad recibieron kits de tejido—hilo, bolsas y agujas—gracias al generoso apoyo de Entrelanas. También entregamos una donación de platos a los adultos mayores de la comunidad, honrando nuestro compromiso con todas las generaciones. Esta Red de Sueños se está integrando a la ruta de turismo comunitario, creando una atracción única que beneficiará a toda la comunidad mientras exhibe la increíble artesanía de las mujeres de Punta Arena. Esta creación artística fortalece la identidad cultural, promueve el turismo de base comunitaria y honra el trabajo artesanal que ha sido transmitido a través de generaciones.

Celebrando el Arte y el Conocimiento

Nuestro viaje artístico alzó vuelo con artistas voluntarios de Bellas Artes, quienes crearon nuestra primera exposición de acuarelas presentando la Flora de Punta Arena. Esta increíble obra de arte, con el apoyo de la gran acuarelista cartagenera y maestra Tere Perdomo, se está transformando en un libro de referencia para la escuela local, las mujeres ecoguías y cualquier persona interesada en aprender más sobre el Bosque Seco Tropical—el ecosistema forestal más amenazado del mundo y de Colombia. Agradecemos a todos los artistas voluntarios que hicieron esto posible, convirtiendo el conocimiento científico en arte accesible y hermoso.

A finales de junio organizamos dos rincones de lectura adicionales en la escuela de Punta Arena, donde pintamos tres salones y organizamos libros generosamente donados por nuestros increíbles aliados. Estos espacios se están convirtiendo en puntos de encuentro para el aprendizaje y la imaginación, nutriendo a la próxima generación de guardianes ambientales.

Protegiendo Nuestro Paraíso Costero

La acción ambiental permanece en el corazón de nuestra misión. En julio organizamos una jornada educativa de limpieza de playas en Punta Arena con voluntarios de COJOWA y el equipo de VEOLIA. Juntos recolectamos más de 30 kg de residuos, de los cuales aproximadamente 3 kg fueron materiales aprovechables. Estas actividades continuas ayudan a reducir la contaminación, proteger los ecosistemas marino-costeros locales y sensibilizar a la comunidad sobre prácticas responsables como la separación y el reciclaje de residuos. Cada limpieza es también una oportunidad para educar e inspirar.

Nuestro compromiso ambiental continuó a través de nuestro magnífico Festival de Cine Ambiental en septiembre, realizado en el marco del Trees and Seas Film Festival con el apoyo de Plastic Oceans y la Cooperación Española en Cartagena. Durante tres veladas proyectamos poderosos documentales que mostraron comunidades alrededor del mundo luchando por proteger sus entornos naturales. Desde pueblos pesqueros mexicanos transformados en modelos globales de conservación hasta el pueblo Wayuu protegiendo su territorio ancestral de la minería de carbón, y desde las comunidades pesqueras de la cuenca del Congo hasta el extraordinario vínculo entre un buzo y una manta raya en México—cada película generó conversaciones sobre el poder de la acción comunitaria. Nuestra proyección final incluyó un diálogo significativo con la Directora del programa de Biología Marina de la Universidad del Sinú y sus estudiantes, quienes se emocionaron de ser parte de esta iniciativa.

Compartiendo Nuestra Historia, Ampliando Nuestro Impacto

Hemos llevado con orgullo la historia de Punta Arena a audiencias más amplias a través de diversas ferias y festivales. En agosto participamos en el Festival del Amor Consciente 2025 organizado por la Fundación TuCultura en el Hotel Santa Clara de Cartagena.

Gracias a CARDIQUE, también participamos en la feria de Negocios Verdes en Cartagena y en La Gran Vitrina Verde de Cali durante septiembre y octubre. Estas plataformas nos dieron el privilegio de presentar nuestros productos junto con las impresionantes artesanías elaboradas por mujeres emprendedoras de Punta Arena y Tierra Bomba, resaltando su talento, creatividad y compromiso con el desarrollo comunitario. En estas importantes ferias contamos con la participación activa de una de las eco-guías y emprendedoras de Punta Arena, como reconocimiento a su resiliencia. Estas oportunidades reafirman nuestro propósito de apoyar a las comunidades locales, fortalecer la economía verde y promover la sostenibilidad a través de la unión entre cultura y medio ambiente.

Mirando al Futuro con Gratitud

Cada hilo en nuestra Red de Sueños, cada libro en nuestros rincones de lectura, cada pedazo de residuo recolectado de nuestras playas y cada producto artesanal compartido en las ferias representa más que una actividad—representa esperanza, oportunidad y orgullo comunitario. Las mujeres de Punta Arena no son solo partícipes en esta historia; son las autoras de ella, escribiendo un nuevo capítulo donde el patrimonio cultural y la protección ambiental caminan de la mano hacia un futuro sostenible y próspero.

Estamos profundamente agradecidos por su continuo apoyo, que hace todo esto posible. Juntos estamos demostrando que los sueños, cuando se tejen colectivamente, se convierten en realidad.

The Heart of Our Work: Women Leading the Way

At the center of this beautiful movement are the women of Punta Arena—ecoguides and artisans who are weaving their dreams into a tangible reality. This summer, we launched an extraordinary project with Entre Lanas called "Red de Sueños" (Dreams Network), inviting women from Punta Arena and volunteers nationwide to create a collective sky tapestry as part of the Punta Arena Resiliente project. More than 70 weavers from across the country have already joined forces with the ambitious goal of creating 1,750 granny squares measuring 20x20 cm in crochet, which will form a stunning 17x5 meter collective textile installation.

This breathtaking tribute to artisan hands came alive in Punta Arena, where community women received weaving kits—yarn, bags, and needles—thanks to the generous support of Entrelanas. We also delivered a donation of plates to the community's elders, honoring our commitment to all generations. This Dreams Network is being integrated into the community tourism route, creating a unique attraction that will benefit the entire community while showcasing the incredible craftsmanship of Punta Arena's women. It strengthens cultural identity, promotes community-based tourism, and honors the artisanal work that has been passed down through generations.

Celebrating Art and Knowledge

Our artistic journey took flight with volunteer artists from Bellas Artes, who created our first watercolor exhibition featuring the Flora of Punta Arena. This incredible artwork, under the guidance of great watercolor artist and teacher Tere Perdomo, is being transformed into a reference guide-book for the local school, the women ecoguides, and anyone interested in learning more about the Dry Tropical Forest—the most endangered forest ecosystem in the world and in Colombia. We are grateful to all the artist volunteers who made this possible, turning scientific knowledge into accessible, beautiful art.

In late June, we organized two additional reading corners at the Punta Arena school, where we painted three classrooms and arranged books generously donated by our amazing allies. These spaces are becoming gathering points for learning and imagination, nurturing the next generation of environmental stewards.

Protecting Our Coastal Paradise

Environmental action remains at the core of our mission. In July, we organized an educational beach cleanup in Punta Arena with volunteers from COJOWA and the VEOLIA team. Together, we collected over 30 kg of waste, of which approximately 3 kg were recyclable materials. These ongoing activities help reduce pollution, protect local marine-coastal ecosystems, and raise community awareness about responsible practices like waste separation and recycling. Every cleanup is also an opportunity to educate and inspire.

Our environmental commitment continued through our magnificent Environmental Film Festival in September, held as part of the Trees and Seas Film Festival with support from Plastic Oceans and the Spanish Cooperation in Cartagena. Over three evenings, we screened powerful documentaries that showcased communities around the world fighting to protect their natural environments. From Mexican fishing villages transformed into global conservation models to the Wayuu people protecting their ancestral territory from coal mining, and from the Congo basin's fishing communities to the extraordinary bond between a diver and a manta ray in Mexico—each film sparked conversations about the power of community action. Our final screening included a meaningful dialogue with the Director of the Marine Biology program at Universidad del Sinú and her students, who were thrilled to be part of this initiative.

Sharing Our Story, Growing Our Impact

We've been proudly taking Punta Arena's story to broader audiences through various fairs and festivals. In August, we participated in the Festival del Amor Consciente 2025 organized by Fundación TuCultura at Hotel Santa Clara in Cartagena.

Thanks to CARDIQUE, we also participated in the Negocios Verdes fair in Cartagena and La Gran Vitrina Verde in Cali during September and October. These platforms gave us the privilege of presenting our products alongside the stunning handicrafts made by women entrepreneurs from Punta Arena and Tierra Bomba, highlighting their talent, creativity, and commitment to community development. These opportunities reaffirm our purpose of supporting local communities, strengthening the green economy, and promoting sustainability through the union of culture and environment.

Looking Forward with Gratitude

Every thread in our Dreams Network, every book in our reading corners, every piece of waste collected from our beaches, and every artisan product shared at fairs represents more than an activity—it represents hope, opportunity, and community pride. The women of Punta Arena are not just participants in this story; they are the authors of it, writing a new chapter where cultural heritage and environmental stewardship walk hand in hand toward a sustainable, prosperous future.
